Description

I believe this appears to be by design, but it has proven to be really confusing to end users who are using my themes. When they try to change the image name, the only field provided is "Title". Users do not see a distinction between "Title" and the image's actual filename.

Therefore, could I ask if there is a setting to allow the "Title" edit to actually change the filename of the image? Or can you put this in as a feature request?

  • Status changed from new to closed

This would cause all sorts of problems. What would happen to any <img> tags in old posts that are using the old file name in the href?

Feel free to reopen if I've missed something.

Maybe this is a UI issue?

Frankly, I don't see what's so confusing: the filename is displayed first, then the title.

Also, the title is initially set to the file name, but without the extension.
