1.7.3 is a maintenance release with three changes, to make the 1.7 branch compatible with the jQuery 1.4 branch.

Strongly suggesting we push this in 3.0 if we can be sure these are internal issues that won't break anything we're doing.

(Cross referencing #12863, which would be getting UI 1.8 into 3.1.)

I'm all for getting this into 3.0 as well. Very few changes, and they fix some really annoying issues.
