Suggest: Installer to archive changed pages during upgrade

I suggest that at the very least, the Installer archives changed pages during the upgrade process in order to stop the obvious over-writing of modifications. A choice being whether to download such a zipped file and/or to archive it on the server.

My preferences would be that we adopt adopt a phpBB-style upgrader which was able to check diffs and offer a choice of merging or over-writing.

Absolutely not. Sorry that you need to do those in phpBB, but core hacks are a big no.
