My original post is here  http://wordpress.org/support/topic.php?id=53416&replies=1 i think that since the trackback method is changed, there should be a cleaup process added in the upgrade.php for cleanup the db to_ping field, because if there is some char ( example \n\r ) in the to_ping field this will cause none of the trackback can be send
