Jetpack causing "Blog returned invalid data" error

(I could find no issue tracker for Jetpack, so opening here)
Upon installation of the latest Jetpack version, it seems my iOS app is unable to access the "Posts" section with the dreaded "Blog returned invalid data" error.
Disabling the Jetpack plugin instantly makes this section of the app accessible again. "Pages" and other parts of the app are not affected by this.
I assume this is a character encoding issue?
