Unable to login/reset password

Description

I can see my user in my mysql database, but I cannot sign in on wordpress to edit my site.
It cannot recognise the user or password so I tried to reset password and this then failed as it doesn't recognise the email address, even though I only set it up yesterday and it emailed me saying set up complete. I have tried changing the email address in my mysql database and this hasn't helped either.
