Auto save works only in UTF-8

Description

Auto save should work also with different charsets than UTF-8.

Now it's saving my ISO-8859-1 posts with wrong characters.

Does this still apply to the current version? I believe that how character sets here handled was completely changed between 2.1 and 2.2. 2.1 used the latin1 character set. Closing as 'fixed' but please reopen with instructions on how to replicate if this is still a problem.
