Styling of numbers of plugins with updates in pop-out menus

Description

When menus are collapsed, the numbers that appear when plugin updates are available in the pop out menus as they are when the menus are expanded. This may also affect numbers of comments awaiting moderation in a similar way. I have seen the same behaviour in a number of browsers, including Firefox and IE.
