Description

Directing posts to an alternate page works well with Firefox 3.0.10 but the page cannot be found by IE 8.0.6

Don't think there is much I can add. However, I have made a couple more documents with screen shots of the preparation etc. and some comments.
It may be to do with our data base. Suggest you look at www.britishresidents.ch and at http://general.britishresidents.ch which is the link to the main WP site from the HTML startup page.

@Nigelino:

Internet Exploer 8 is hiding the actual error message with its friendly error page. Would you reproduce the problem again and post the error message here after "Show friendly HTTP error messages" under Internet Options\Advanced\Browsing is disabled? Thanks.

Thanks for the tip. However it doesn't seem to me to add much to our knowledge! I tried reducing the security but that didn't help either! UPloading a new screen shot.

can you confirm the issue in trunk? it sounds a great deal like that 512b bug that we finally fixed in 2.8.
