The theme editor puts all text on one line

Description

Any time I manually edit a theme file and then upload it, the theme editor puts my new code all on one line. This is a real pain if I am adding a lot of code because the page is unreadable and I have to add new lines in the theme editor to make things look nice.

Which browser/version? We may need to either change or remove the code highlighting as it seems to bring more troubles than benefits.

Firefox 3.0 on Windows Vista. I have disabled the highlighting for now.
