TinyMCE - Bold button does not show state of pasted text

To reproduce this:

1. Paste the following into TinyMCE:

This is a <strong>test</strong> blah blah

2. Copy this text to the clipboard and paste into WordPress again
3. Click inside the word test, notice the Bold button is not depressed. This is the bug.

As a work around, go to the HTML editor and the to the Visual Editor and click on the test text. The bold button will be depressed.

Seems to work in some browsers but not in others. This will eventually be fixed upstream if at all possible or when the browsers start supporting the RTE a bit better.
