Media Editor icons

The new Media Editor obviously needs icons that will fit better with its environment, ideally in the same style as the menu icons. Are there any plans on this? Have the artists of the two current icon sets been contacted?

Also, why are the current icons so big? Is there a reason or are they just temporary?

(I was looking at what I need to update in the Tangofy plugin for WP 2.9, and 16×16 seems a fine size for this. See attached screenshot.)

The current icons were the first open source icons I could find :-) Yes, waiting for new icons from the authors of the menu icons and they will be 16x16.

Is that currently being worked on? I might want to interest my students in contributing this based on the menu icons.

Ben completed a set, but we decided to have him redo them at 24x24 for usability and aesthetic purposes, as the 16x16 seemed like a bit too small of a target for primary actions (compared to the menu icons, which are secondary since there is primary text). Verena has said she'll do a blue set for the blue admin theme, but her schedule is a bit tighter, so there may be an opportunity to take Ben's icons and modify the sprite for the blue admin theme. Am finding out when she thinks she could do them by.
