cannot add post thum befor save as draft

If i try to add a post thumbnail, i need to save as draft befor. Thats a bad workaround. Maybe its better to deactivate the "set thumbnail" function befor the post ist safed first time?

Confirmed behaviour. Autosaving first doesn't help.

Sorry, it was a plugin-bug (​http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/more-fields/) , not a wp-bug.

Should be closed as invalid, not fixed -- that said, scribu confirmed the behavior. Reopening for now.
