Description
It'd be great to be able to have (as that other blogging system does) the poster's e-mail address as the sender address when comment notifications are sent.
Also being able to modify the e-mail template and subject template would be a nice touch, so that I can more easily distinguish them from one weblog to another, etc...

Not I. I get mine from cgi-mailer-bounces-########@perfora.net.
My (ex) Movable Type install sent them properly, but not WP. Does anyone know where I could look to find this bug?

It's worth noting that the database (but not the website) that my wordpress install is hosted at is on perfora.net. Perhaps there's something to that?

It looks like this is related to bug 263 ( http://mosquito.wordpress.org/view.php?id=263 ) -- once I modified functions.php to use '\n' instead of '\r\n' as the line terminator, I began to see proper From: headers in my mails. I'm going to close this one now (since it's essentially a dupe)

Hmm ... i am using Wordpress 1.2 and my comment notification _are_ coming from the posters address (if he/she supplied one).
