Ticket #12706, comment 213
initial v1 1 1 I'll throw in one more use case, needed for journalist sites: Morgue. Articles with info that's out-of-date but has elements we wish to save. Often the "morgued" post's URL is redirected to a newer related article. But we still want to save the original, even if just for archival purposes. 2 2 3 So the Morgue status public and search parameters are false, but the show-in-lists params aretrue. That way we can list all Morgue posts quickly.3 So we set the Morgue post-status public and search parameters to false, but the show-in-lists params to true. That way we can list all Morgue posts quickly. 4 4 5 5 Not sure how general this need is, but in journalism the idea of an article morgue is central. And born-digital news is being lost FASTER than paper=printed news. So perhaps post-status can assist in archival/preservation efforts.
