Customize sort order of posts in a category

Two additional field in the Manage Categories administration tab to customize the sort order and sort key for a given category would be very helpful.

For instance, sorting the posts by the posts date or name in Ascending order instead of Descending.

I'd like to add the request that category settings be "cascading" so that if I set ascending by date for a category, all sub-categories of that category should follow the same format by default.
