How does one add a menu item that points to the site's front page / blog page?

Description

I somewhat remember this was around at some point. Or maybe I was just dreaming...

At any rate, we're missing a menu item that outputs a link to the site's front page and which, as one would expect it conveniently does, gets the needed class when you're on the front page.

Likewise, we're missing a menu item that outputs a link to the site's blog page and which, similarly, gets the needed class when we're on a blog page or when browsing a post. (And possibly an archive or a post-related taxonomy...)

Pages > View All, "Home". I'm not sure how it handles static front/blog pages.

The link to the front page is under pages and labeled "Home."

Not sure what we'd call a link to the home page, qua WP terminology.
