Navigating WP Admin - Wordpress Reverts back to Installation Page

Description
This is the 3rd time that I have been in Wordpress navigating around, when the wordpress site reverts back to install the wordpress. I clicked on the dashboard, all the portlets loaded, and then one in the middle noted to install wordpress. I clicked refresh and now my website is asking me to install wordpress, select user name, password, etc. Unsure what is causing this off and on. I am attempting a restore from the server now of the files. Hopefully some suggestions.
