Description (last modified by )
Press This is really neat, but it doesn't take advantage of recent developments, such as auto-drafts or oEmbed.
I think that, with a little ingenuity, we can make PressThis use the post-new.php screen.
I wrote a plugin to prove the viability of the idea: Press This Reloaded

- Focuses ui added
- Keywords dev-feedback close added
Press This seems to be designed to be a quick way to write about something. While it's in desperate need of a UI update, I think that using the full post_new template would be a bit overwhelming. Frankly, maybe it needs to change to use the quick draft layout as that's probably what most people use it for. In any case some sort of UI change is in order as it doesn't look like its been updated in a while, and is missing all of the style changes of WordPress core since at least before the 3.8 UI changes.
I think the best solution would be to close this ticket, and have a new one for a UI update. I will not open a new ticket yet in case core doesn't want to proceed down that road, I'll leave it up to them to make it.

The Press This featured plugin project would help in this regard. https://github.com/MichaelArestad/Press-This

- Milestone Future Release deleted
- Resolution set to worksforme
- Status changed from new to closed
This is no longer an option after merging the plugin. On the other hand, now the Press This editor supports everything the Post New editor has. A bit torn between "wontfix" and "worksforme" here.
