Replace Category dropdown with an auto-suggest field in the posts admin screen

Description

Instead of having a dropdown which can filter only categories, how about we have a dropdown where you can select what to filter (category, author, tag etc.) and an auto-suggest field next to it.

14 months without any comments or a patch makes it look like no one is exactly burning to get this in. Closing for now. Can re-open if submitting a patch.

Cool idea, though. I have a feeling someone will dust off this ticket a few years from now.

The problem with an auto-suggest for categories is that you lose the visual indication of the hierarchy.

This would not be a problem with an author auto-suggest, though, so I'm tempted to re-open #7723.
