Could not copy file. /public_html/core/wp-content/plugins/si-contact-form/license.txt
Plugin install failed.
I have tried chmod 777 after removing upgrade directory
clean install
nothing works
please help!

I have tried the support forums, I tried everything before reporting this. This is an issue. I actually have tried several alternative options before doing this.
Installed via Fantastico and manually installed wordpress...
Result..plugins and automatic updates cant be isntalled per update/installer with wordpress.
i am asking for a fix , please provide assistance.

Upgraded to major due to # of individuals this affects is significant. WP versions impacted are 2.8 thru current.
I am experiencing this issue with 3.01 and 3.03.

Closing after 6months pending more information about the server environment which was causing it.
If you're not the original reporter, you'll be better off starting a new ticket.
It works for me.
