#15894 closed defect (bug) (duplicate)

Adding child category when editing post doesn't display the correct hierarchy afterwards

Reported by: garyc40 Owned by: garyc40
Milestone: Priority: normal
Severity: minor Version: 3.1
Component: General Keywords: ui-review
Focuses: Cc:

Try adding a sub-category when editing or adding a new post. The sub-category will jump to the top of the category list, while the parent category will jump to the second place.

This happens when you use Press This as well.

I assume this also happens to custom hierarchical taxonomies.

This plugin written by scribu fixes this bug: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/category-checklist-tree/

I use it on every site.
