Description
Even when the option to use certain signs to mark links that have been recently updated is set, the links are not marked thus. If the functionality is going to be removed from the core to a plug-in, the option shouldn't be there or it should point to the plug-in.

I have a link-update-cache.xml on wp-content. I'll keep on looking up what's wrong though. Just trying to help.

So you have a correctly CHMODed xml cache file, and have included the file that checks weblogs.com for updated links? If not I suggest you investigate things more before filing bugs.
