Description

Preview Button in Page Editor does not work when javascript is disabled.

Instead of a preview, the button opens a new tab containning the actual page.

I expected the button to work. Infact the button did not work.

WordPress works with limited functionality when JS is disabled. This is one of these cases.

  • Keywords ui-feedback ux-feedback dev-feedback added; close removed

That's what I've experienced in practice. Shouldn't the button removed in that case to not mislead the user? (Or something similar). I can understand that the feature is not available w/o javascript, but that's only one aspect.

Something similar:

The "Collapsed menu" is displayed on current HEAD of trunk but does not work if javascript is switched off.

  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

WordPress works with limited functionality when JS is disabled. We should add a warning as discussed in #13516.
