Trackbacks do not send correct permalinks

Description
It seems that trackbacks send "messy" URLs and not the correct permalinks. Needless to say, this is not such a great idea, especially since one can hardly change trackbacks after they have been sent. Yes, it still works, but it's absolutely unclean, and it may break compatibility if I change my software in the future but keep my URL layout (the "permanent" part of Permalinks).

This has been fixed in WP 1.6 (see #1257)
In the meantime, there is a plugin to fix this for WP 1.5.2:
