Able to upload the same image twice

Description
It is possible to upload the same image twice. Even under the exact same name. That has no real purpouse or has it?
Maybe a message such as: 'This image is already uploaded.' or automaticly go to the picture in the gallery.
Uploading the same picture twice can cause a mess on the server and is just a waste of space.

Unfortunately the server cannot "see" the image to determine it's exactly the same :)
There are many legitimate uses for allowing images with the same name to be uploaded, for example pictures taken with the same (digital) camera are usually named with sequential numbers, so often there are many images with the same name on different memory cards.
