No way to upload media in IE7 (Select File doesn't respond)

Description
Using IE7, I have no way to upload media.
I've tried from the media->add new menu, and from within a post. IE has no drag and drop, that's cool. But the Select Files button does nothing.
I have manually reinstalled 3.3 several times. 2011 theme, no plugins.
I though the pointer might have been getting in the way (no way to close in IE7) so I used another browser to clear the pointer. Still cannot use the Select Files button.

There are actually two problems: cannot dismiss pointers and uploader not working in IE7.
The uploader is using either Silverlight or Flash on IE, could you check what's installed in that IE7 you found the problem on, and the versions. Perhaps see whether Silverlight or Flash need updating there as well.
Running flash 10,3,183,7
Silverlight 4.0.60531.0
So flash is fairly current, I have no way to update it.... Updates get pushed pretty slow here
Silverlight is current

Dismiss pointers happens on IE 8 as well (however you CAN upload files, just not via the drag/drop uploader).
Pointers and uploader work fine on the same XP box with Chrome and Firefox.
Running Flash 11.something & Silverlight 4.0.60531.0
(ETA: Flash uploads never work on this box, because my firewall blocks it)
