Shouldn't we follow the original URL. For example, the permalink for "Requests and Feedback" forum is actually http://wordpress.org/support/forum/requests-and-feedback with no trailing /.

Also the codex URL is http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page (reference: WP.org menu)

Ha, I caught that just before your comment. Patch was refreshed.

The redirection there, I would suggest, is fine. codex.wordpress.org/ is canonical.
