#21895 closed defect (bug) (worksforme)

TinyMCE (Visual Editing) doesn't display

Reported by: OceanWind Owned by:

Component: TinyMCE Keywords: reporter-feedback

Since upgrading to 3.4.2, the Visual Editor has stopped working in Firefox and Chrome. It seems to work in IE.

Using FireFox's web developer toolbar, I'm getting the following bug report:

SyntaxError: missing } in XML expression
         font-size: 12px;

I looked for this en.js file to create my own temporary workaround, but couldn't find it. Must be virtual?

  • Component changed from Administration to TinyMCE
  • Keywords reporter-feedback added
  • Severity changed from blocker to normal

There is no wp-includes/js/tinymce/langs/en.js file in core since 2.5 (and even then, the directory name was langs, not lang). The file was removed in [6790] for #5807.

Have you tried disabling all plugins and switching to the default theme (Twenty Eleven)?

This might be a symptom of a hacked install. Please try the support forums to rule out that possibility: http://wordpress.org/support/
