#22580 closed enhancement (invalid)

Add an option to preserve aspect ratio when changing image size in "Advanced Image Settings"

Description

Having an option to preserve aspect ratio would make it much easier for me to show an image smaller and still have the proportion being correct.

It could be either done as a plain checkbox (in case of no JS) or, like the GIMP, as an imagebutton with a connected chain link when aspect ratio is preserved, and a broken chain link when aspect ration is not preserved.

The tab called "Advanced Image Settings" in the screen in the post editor where you edit images.

ohh That's clearer, thank you. BTW, the TinyMCE demo already does this. It might be something we could copypasta into WP.

Since WP 3.9 you can resize an image inline and preserve the aspect ratio. You can no longer change the image size in the modal.
