Description
There are some strange things happening in Theme Customizer in Google Chrome 23 on Windows 7.
How to recreate:
- Navigate to Appearance -> Themes page.
- Using keyboard, tab to Customize link and action. Panel opens as expected.
- Tab down to Header Image and change. Then interact with background image.
- Tab down to Navigation and press Enter - half of all the Customizer sections disappear!

I'm not having any luck reproducing this using Chrome 23 on OSX. Maybe there's a step I'm missing? I have a hard time imagining that it's Windows-specific, but I suppose there is also that difference as well.
Let me just check that I've got the latest nightly.

Yes, it's still happening. Unfortunately I don't have screencasting software or I'd show you.
Firefox and IE9 work fine.

worksforme. Chrome 23 WinXP
Both my Win 7 machines exhibit this behaviour.
Think I've got something that I can record a vid with. Is there somewhere I could upload it to or shall I stick it on YouTube?

YouTube would be fine. So far could not reproduce either.

I have uploaded the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9qaWgwu0Zs
The video is unlisted which should mean that only people who have the URL can see it. Let me know if you have issues and I'll make it public.
There's no sound but hopefully you can see what happens when I follow the steps outlined above. You can see the top half of options within the Customizer disappear when I hit enter when focus is on navigation. This happens on both my Windows 7 machines.

Dude you need to try unloading some browser extensions. ;) I'm betting one or more of those is incompatible.
Also, I would just be curious to know if you can reproduce this with all of them disabled.

Followed the exact same steps, still could not reproduce. I guess it might be one of those browser extensions indeed.

Have removed all browser extensions and I'm still getting the same.
I believe it's interacting with the Background Image settings with keyboard and then moving elsewhere that triggers it.
I can do anything in the Theme Customizer and it's OK - until I interact with Background Image via keyboard. Then whichever other option I tab (shift-tab) to and hit enter the top half goes.
Interestingly, tabbing back to Background Image and hitting Enter key brings everything back again. Also, when the items have disappeared, hovering over them with a mouse makes them reappear.

Not sure if this is relevant, but when I tab down to "select a file" under Background Image, when I press Enter nothing happens. So I would be unable to upload anything from the keyboard.

Also, if you update to 3.5-RC2 or the trunk version, does the problem persist?

Am now running RC2-22961 and I'm still getting the issue.
And to answer your other question, yes, this happens on all my Windows machines: One Windows 7 desktop, one Windows 7 laptop, and one Vista Laptop.

grahamarmfield, I would like to help but there's not much more I can do from here. I only use Windows XP. I could test your site if you wanted to send a password to my gmail account. All that would tell us is whether it's something site-specific and reproducible on XP.

OK I can create you an account. Can you let me know your email address somehow.

I logged in, confirmed 3.5-RC2-22961 with Twenty Ten and 7 active plugins. I could not reproduce the bug for this ticket using Chrome 23 and WinXP.

Seems like nobody else is having this issue. Closing.

Happened to me recently. Exactly the symptoms Opener describes. I think that could easily be a Chrome bug. Giving sidebar accordion a z-index
seems to fix things for me.
.wp-full-overlay-sidebar .wp-full-overlay-sidebar-content { z-index: 1; }
Another user is reporting similar or same issue and is reporting that WP_Customize_Image_Control
has something to do with it.

See #26585. I can now consistently reproduce with Chrome 31 on Windows 7.
The CSS from comment:27 appears to fix this. Needs an actual patch and more testing.
I'm not having any luck reproducing this using Chrome 23 on OSX. Maybe there's a step I'm missing? I have a hard time imagining that it's Windows-specific, but I suppose there is also that difference as well.
