First: wpautop treats </samp> just like it was </p>
Second: <br> is added before <samp> but not before all other tags such as <b>, <i>, <em>, <kbd>, <var> etc.
Third: wpautop adds unwanted <p> in between nested shortcodes such as: [tabs] [tab]content 1[/tab] [tab]content 1[/tab] [/tabs]
