Twenty Thirteen: Text in Search Box disappears in IE10

Description

When you click on the search icon in Twenty Thirteen in Windows 7 IE10 the window does open up with the cursor showing… But when you click out of the box it does show "Search..." But only as the box is collapsing.

Uploaded is a screenshot of what shows in Firefox Mac and what show in Windows in a IE10 to give you the best example of the issue.

I am not too concerned by this. IE10 on Win8 supports placeholders, all previous IE versions don't. We have the search icon to provide context for non-screen-readers and hidden labels for screen-readers.

I'm not for a JS solution here and doubt there is much else we can do: Vote wontfix.

I'd tend to agree with you… I was doing IE testing yesterday and though it should be noted regardless and then decided from there.
