#2400 closed defect (bug) (wontfix)

404 error - htaccess problem on some pages

Reported by: cre8d Owned by:
Milestone: Priority: normal
Severity: major Version: 2.0

Special install:

Wordpress installed in /, blog URL /blog/.

Copied .htaccess and index.php into /blog/ and adjusted path to ../wp-blog-header.php

Options set to:

Wordpress address: http://www.namesatwork.com

Blog address: http://www.namesatwork.com/blog

Most pages are accessible fine using both URL paths, e.g.:

http://www.namesatwork.com/blogs/ doesn't work

http://www.namesatwork.com/blog/blogs/ does work

Subpages of "blogs" also do not work when trying to access from the root directory, e.g.:

http://www.namesatwork.com/blog/blogs/customer-relations-management/ doesn't work

http://www.namesatwork.com/blogs/customer-relations-management/ does work

Is this an .htaccess problem? I recall some bugs surrounding have the word "blog" in the permalink in version 2.0.

This is not a supported configuration for WordPress. However, it is possible to achieve it using a plugin.
