That caused a fair amount of grief on wordpress.com resulting in a revert to 1.10.0. Reopening this ticket so we can consider 1.10.2 for 3.6. If the 1.10.2 timing doesn't work out, we might need to release with a patch or prerelease version of 1.10.2.

I started a conversation upstream. I have no qualms about dropping in pre-release maintenance releases into core, so we should do that with 1.10.2-pre. Per a conversation I had with folks upstream, 1.10.2 final should be out within a week. The lead developer is out until the 24th, it'll drop absolutely no later than early next week.
