Twenty Fourteen: White Space below main menu not required or needs balanced

Description

The horizontal white space between the main menu and the image of the first post needs adjusted as it looks a little out of place. See attached - [can't add attachment]

Three solutions:

  1. Remove the white space totally
  2. Reduce the height of the white space or
  3. Reduce height of white space and balance it with the same space to the left of the first post image.

I'm not sure if this is a bug -- seems to me to be part of the intended design.

Yes. That's intentional and the latest version has even more white space.
