Description

Check for duplicate or "near miss" strings, and compare to Twenty Thirteen so we don't run into the "Not Found" issue again like we did in 3.7 (see #24891).

Noting #23257 for simplifying post format plural strings. Too late for 3.8, though.

Regarding: adding back in textual context, I'd love to find a way (in future themes) to show a tag or category archive with an icon or some other less verbose method.

I think having the extra text provides needed context and promotes findability and usability of WordPress as a site or blog.
