The only solution would appear to be widening that one column

I'm not totally sold on widening that one column for some languages when on different devices that column scales anyway - no matter what language. My recommendation would be to not fix this. Does anyone object to that? To me, it wraps like it should and having things not all one line is just something happens not only in different languages but also in different screen resolutions.
