Difficult UI to read activity In plugin support forum profile page

Description

The current UI for http://wordpress.org/support/profile/<username> is difficult for me appreciate what posts made by myself on different plugin support forums have been responded to.

Maybe some sort of table or color scheme for quick readability. I know that there is a feature to update a user via email when a post is answered, this is a different request than that.

Hello Sjourney,
there are already some ideas to enhance the .org profiles. See this post from Jen http://make.wordpress.org/meta/2014/01/07/talked-with-coffee2code-about-profiles-today-hes-going/ or the posts from Mert, https://make.wordpress.org/meta/author/merty/.

  • Milestone changed from Awaiting Review to WordPress.org
  • Priority changed from normal to low
  • Severity changed from normal to minor

@Sjourney: Thanks for the report!

There are definitely improvements we want to make to the dotorg profiles, but we'll actually probably remove the support forum-specific profiles in the not-too-distant future (see the first link from @ocean90).

If you have ideas for how we can make the activity view better, we'd love to see some mockups. Feel free to attach them here.

In the future, can you file tickets like these on the meta trac? We're trying to get away from using this trac for wordpress.org requests.

@samuelsidler
Thanks for you reply.

Sorry, still learning how to use Trac. So the reason I posted that image was due to my process on how I came to post here. First I asked on #wordpress freenode and told to look here. Then I ascertained from the core.trac.wordpress.org/reports page (the 2nd attached screenshot) that this seemed the right place to do it. Perhaps change that or link that to meta trac?

As for mockups, I'm not much a of a UI/UX guy. But if I think of anything I'd be happy to share it.

Thanks for all your work. Cheers!

Yep. We need to improve some things to make the meta trac more visible. Just wanted to point you to the other trac for the future. :)

  • Milestone WordPress.org deleted
  • Resolution set to invalid
  • Status changed from new to closed

This should be on meta trac. Closing as invalid.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
