The formating could use some work, and I might have a few divs out of place. But this serves as a demonstration of a simple way to improve the responsiveness of the admin interface.

I agree with davidhouse, the cron idea is cleanerfor updating; however, the implementation of #2706 didn't make me very happy. The order of inclusion of certain files makes things sticky.

What about AJAX? I thought about it before and this is a typical case for AJAX. (Wrote that code (kind of) already for the plugin Scrobbler.)
