[28052] is actually a bit out of date; it does not take into account some style and diction changes proposed by siobhan. Those will follow after RC1.

The thing I would most want to change from the initial/rough version is the part about the visual editor. Make it clearer which feature is which, and maybe even add screenshots.

Make sure screenshots say 3.9 instead of 3.8. :)

Does this ticket cover the Credits page, or should that be a new ticket?

I've uploaded a mockup, about.png​. This is designed by melchoyce and is getting coded up by ryelle. There is some slight wonkiness around paragraph heights for three columns, but we'll handle that at the end.

The page is built with some interactivity in mind:

• The 'live widget previews' is a chromeless repeating video.
• "Browse Themes" button. (Note, the color just based on the color scheme mel is using.)
• The playlist is just an image for now, but we could make it an actual embedded playlist.

Also considered:

• An animated gif for scaling the image up and down.
• The editor at the top could actually be functional but I don't think it adds much to the page.

27713.diff​ implements the mockup above. The images are in about.zip​, and the video is being pulled from cloudup, ​https://i.cloudup.com/yvZ-RbQMPE.mp4. I dropped the images in wp-admin/about just so I could work with them, once they're uploaded to wp.org the paths can be updated.

I left a placeholder for the playlist, since I don't know what tracks we're using for that.

Like the live playlist...couple suggestions...I'd put the Louis Armstrong track first since that is probably the track that will be most familiar to folks, and I think we probably should host the files on wp.org rather than hotlinking to archive.org.
