Description

Visual Editor (not working) in Internet Explorer 11 (with or without compatibility mode)

Using WP v3.9

I have tried in Chrome and Firefox and both of these are fine.

But when I tried IE 11, if I click on the "Visual" tab, nothing displays. I see the scroll bar move a tad, but that's it. It doesn't open up to show the Visual editing component nor can I add content under the "Visual" tab. Only the text tab is functional.

I tried this on another website, and didn't experience the problem. I'm looking into it further, and will report back.

Tested it again, in the original site, and now it seems fine. Therefore, for the moment, all seems fine. Disregard this post.

It is happening to me with Version 3.9.2, as other browsers like Firefox and Chrome show the toolbar just fine.

  1. Does it still happen with all plugins disabled and a default theme (Twenty Fourteen or Twenty Thirteen) activated?
  2. Your screenshot looks different from garymgordon's, so it might not be the same issue. It would be a good idea to try the support forums for troubleshooting.

I have disabled all plugins and ran the 2012/2013/2014 default themes. Makes no difference. When I run IE 9, all is right with the world, it is IE10 and higher that seem to goof up on me. As I say, the button behaviors are present, it is the icons that are missing.
