Description

In WordPress 3.9, I was invited to update a plugin, which I did, but ended up with "-1" plugin in the left-side WordPress menu.

See attached screenshot with the "-1" in red in the left-side column.

Cheers -- Alex

I'm not able to reproduce it. I installed an earlier version of the same plugin and updated it.

The number "1" shown next to Plugins is another plugin that needs updating.

I even tried this on an installation with no other plugins.

I don't know how I made it happen but I have seen this happen at least once as well.
