Description

Although my blog has it's privacy settings set to not allow search engines, the main page of the Admin Dashboard still notifies Technorati of the existance of my blog by requesting incoming links.

I think the entire 'Incoming Links' section shouldn't be shown with privacy settings enabled. This then also slightly improves the performance of the index page.

What do you guys think?

I agree that if privacy is a core option it should turn off the Incoming Links feed.

I've made a small patch which disables the showing and fetching of the Technorati Incoming Links feed.

It's not a tin-foil hat option. The incoming links feed doesn't mean your blog will be indexed. People who don't want it can edit the code or use a plugin, it's confusing to conflate these settings in core.
