unable to delete categories

Description
Yesterday the disk of my isp crashed. After they replaced it I was able to salvage most of my (wordpress)data and get things to run again. The only thing that was missing were the categories that I created. Adding them was easy as I remembered the id's of most categories. So far so good.
I did notice, though, that I could not delete categories. When I tried (as Admin) I recieved a you do not have permission to do this-message. Quite annoying. It may be related to http://wordpress.org/support/topic/75391 but I'm not sure.

Your permissions were likely corrupted, so that your user's role lacks the proper permissions. Try the Role Manager plugin.
Closing because this is a support question, and not a defect in the software.
