Yes, I know, but it is a real problem in current trunk and it should be tracked also here... Why invalid and closed? I tried it a while ago and it is still broken...

It's a typo that needs to be fixed. I would not use the word problem here. Specially if you see the patch added on GlotPress. There are a lot of similar issues being addressed. But this is an issue in GlotPress and not WordPress core. A ticket on meta sometimes could make sense but not for this.
If for a reason on GlotPress side we decide that native names don't have to start with a Capital then on the API side we can still do that.

Can we fix "čeština" and "slovenščina" for consistency for 4.0 (see my comment on the GlotPress ticket), and continue with the rest of that ticket later?

I'm fine with that. If nacin agrees. I can do the fixes or he can do them directly.

Reopening so that we don't forget about this.

Yes, sorry for misunderstanding. Main purpose of this ticket was making "čeština" the same look as all other languages. Only 2 languages has small letter and it does not look good, especially for "čeština" which is on all screenshots and users were asking about it (why small letter)...

Via WikiPedia List_of_ISO_639-1_codes "čeština" and "slovenščina"
and many others are not capitized.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:List_of_ISO_639-1_codes#Capitalization
In the native language heading, some items are not capitalized. Is this the preferred presentation in each native language?
Yes. In certain languages, for example French, language names are uncapitalized (anglais, français, etc.)

See my comment on the GlotPress ticket:
While capitalization is not required for native names when used in a middle of a sentence in some languages, most languages have a rule to start list items with a capital letter.

markoheijnen: Great, but I can still see only "čeština". Maybe it is cached somehow somewhere?

The locale.php file is probably not sycned so we have to update it manually, see https://meta.trac.wordpress.org/browser/sites/trunk/api.wordpress.org/public_html/translations/lib.php#L53.
Will be done ASAP.

pavelevap: Please have some patience. This ticket was already closed by nacin because of the GlotPress issue. So no need to reopen it. I will keep an eye on it.

We are RC and I do not understand why it has to be closed when it does not work and changes in GlotPress ticket did not solve it? How should I know that somebody is keeping eye on it? We can close it when it will be working?

GlotPress commits get periodically deployed to WordPress.org (after review). It's now handled.
This is something for https://glotpress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/342. It's entirely controlled by the API, so it can change at any time.
