The ability to customize the resizing of images is no longer available (the "insert/edit image" button is missing)

I am using WP 3.8.4 because I cannot upgrade to 4.0 without losing the ability to customize the resizing of images (a feature that was most convenient in 3.8.4). Since my site heavily depends on that ability, I'm wondering if a fix is in development.

Hi Jazluvr, thanks for posting on Trac! I'm going to ask you to be a little more specific, and perhaps to provide a screenshot. Resizing an image is certainly possible in 4.0, in fact, it's become even easier. You may want to check in with the support forums if you're not sure how to do it.

However, if you're sure that the Insert/Edit Image button is missing altogether, perhaps it's a browser bug that you're experiencing, in which case we'll need your browser and browser version, computer platform, and preferably a screenshot.

Thanks for your speedy reply. I am attaching a screeenshot of 3.8.4, which shows the "Insert/Edit Image" button, which also allows one to add a caption or comment, by the way. The button is a little more than midway horizontally on the first line of the available tools. In 4.0, that feature is no longer present. In 4.0, there IS an editing arrow that appears in the image when you place it, but you cannot manually set the sizing (for example, choosing a width and have the system calculate the width based on the shape of the image). To be sure, I am going to update again to 4.0 and play with it once again. By the way, I use Internet Explorer 11 when working in WP. It seems to work easier for me. If you can advise me before i uipgrade to 4.0, that would be a great help. If not, I'll try to get more information for you regarding the 4.0issue and perhaps send a screenshot. Thanks again!

Sorry. I made a confusing statement when referring to manual and customizable resizing. I meant to say that you cannot manually set the width and have the system calculate the LENGTH in 4.0. Hope this clarifies. Thanks.

Please disregard this entire line of communication. The "light bulb" finally came on! I saw the "Custom" option after clicking on the "pencil" contained in the image once you select highlight the image. All is fine now. Thanks for offering to help!
