Description
We're planning on fixing the Edit Site flow in #22383. After that sits for a release, let's change the Add New Site flow to reflect this change as well.

With no patch I'm inclined to punt this one. Thoughts?
Yeah, this makes sense. We haven't focused on it enough yet and the original intent was to land Edit Site first (#22383) and go for this in the next release. There may be a few other considerations we should take into account for the Add Site flow.

- Keywords has-patch needs-testing added; needs-patch removed
31240.diff introduces a text field which can be used to set both the domain and the path of the new site.

- Milestone changed from 4.4 to Future Release
We had a great conversation around this today in Slack and it makes sense to postpone this ticket until we're fully aware of what we're solving.
The change to the Add Site screen will likely not reflect the changes made in #22383 in a final version. Instead, we should take a much closer look at how we're managing networks with paths, sites within those networks, and other various possible combinations. That should lead to a larger UI/UX conversation on what this screen can solve for admins.
Also - thank you @thomaswm for uploading the current patch. I'm sorry to fly by with the direction change, but the contribution is appreciated. :)

Considering the last comment, it appears that this report is completely stalled without a future direction. The patch is no longer applying, and it appears that it's not even aligned with the latest discussions commented back in the day. So there is no patch ATM to test.
And given that this has not taken off in the last couple of years, I'm marking this as maybelater
. If any of the participants wants to resume this, feel free to reopen or to create a new ticket with a new direction.
