Description

User reports wanting to put HTML in a post, only to see that line breaks are placed after tags, naturally, because each of those lines do have line breaks after them. Proposal to add a check box that will allow users to disable the auto-paragraph and line break option on a per case basis.

I realize this is an edge case, but it could prove useful. I thought this already existed, but maybe it's one of my many hallucinations. :]

Sorry to snub your overture ;-), but this is -- as you said -- an edge case, so it is a perfect candidate for a plugin using a post meta switch.

Don't know if this still works, but I'd guess it does, or could be easily updated:

What would also be a nice addition to the plugin, now that we have user meta, is per-user settings... so if you have a multiuser blog, a longtime Textile or Markdown user can use their syntax of choice, while not messing up other people's defaults.
