Description
Not sure if this is a fresh 4.2.3 issue or if it's something else, but we just had an issue where Wordpress refused to save any changes to a post after inserting fraction symbols: namely, 1⁄8 and 1⁄4. (But, the symbols themselves. It saves as normal when the symbols were replaced with text "1/4".) This is a live site and I'm unable to disable plugins or switch themes.

I just tested on a clean 4.2.3 and ¼, ½, ¾ all worked exactly as I expected.
How were you adding them into the post? I mean, is it like emoji or were you copy/pasting or...?

Copy and pasting. Here was the line of text in question: "approximately ⅛” to ¼” is significantly "
Upon further investigation, the ¼ works... it's the ⅛ that's causing problems.

⅛ worked fine on my clean installs, and on my personal site running 4.2.3 - I pasted that exact bit of text in, no issues :(
Copy your site to your local computer, disable all plugins, then try.
